KILLSTREME by Rayne Havok

Rating: 5 out of 5.

If you got a rando invitation from a company that produces snuff films, to appear in your very own [film], what would you do? Well, let break that down into two groups: are we the snuffer, or the snuffee? Assuming that it’s an invite to do some psycho shit with no repercussions, I bet a lot of people would jump at the chance, even if they won’t admit it.

The genius of snuff is not its existence but rather its universal appeal. While totally repugnant, it is still more enticing than the filthiest porn.”

Wrath James White

Well, that’s exactly what happened to Wesley, and it’s a wet dream come true! “Normal”, vanilla sex just doesn’t do it for him anymore. Besides, what if they see what he can do and offer him a contract?! (collective eye roll here for his ‘dude-bro’ way of thinking). He filled out his paperwork, and was on his way to an appointment that could potentially change his way of life forever!

And, did it ever!

Yes, this is extreme horror, and yes, it’s totally snuffalicious, but it was a fun read for me! It was way easier on my nerve than BOYS WILL BE BOYS, and I was left with a feeling of [sick] satisfaction🤘. We get a dash of the blackest of humor, and there’s a Girl Power vibe to it strong enough to almost call for an anthem.

Don’t go into this lightly just cuz I’m a psychopath – this is a gore drenched, blood splattered story, that very well might give you nightmares, especially the gentleman.

Boys Will Be Boys by Rayne Havok

Rating: 5 out of 5.
Ms. Havok ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ is begging for you to bring it to life! See note to author.

WARNING: Boys Will Be Boys is Extreme Horror, and NOT for the squeamish, the easily offended, or those with large sticks up their butts. It gets graphic, and may trigger things long buried. Here’s your second WARNING.

‘Bri goes hiking with her friends, determined to make fun memories before her and her friends are off to college.’

‘Everett and his friends are making their own memories; ones the girls aren’t going to want to be a part of. The boys forcefully include them anyway.’

Amazon Synopsis

I have to say that this was a hard book to read. I had a moment of wanting to beat my Kindle against the closest, and hardest thing possible – while swear-screaming, and ugly-crying. A couple hours of reading exhausted me.

I do love Rayne’s writing style. The only way I know to describe it is he said / she said. Every other chapter. You get to read the POV from both sides – in this book it’s boy/girl, rapist/victim, murderer/dead girl. She writes it all, every dirty joke/every scratch left. All in excruciating detail…

“We’re doing this. Here is the place and now, is the time.”

Everett

Rayne doesn’t fuck around with foreplay, that’s for sure. This time she kinda slammed it in and broke it off. After about the first 10% of the book, there are three pages of happiness. How do things get fucked-up so fast?! I’m talking IRL, too, because this story is just that. It could. It might. Maybe it has. In just a matter of moments you can go from the top of the world to the deepest pits of Hell. Un-livable. Un-repairable. Rayne writes so well, and so passionately. I had to fight off a panic attack when shit got REAL real. I was there, on that mountain, and it was tragic.

But, if you DO survive, then what? What’s next? If it’s anything near what happens in this book – listen close, and hear me loud and clear – no-fucking-thank-you. This ending… Omg, no spoilers.

Note to author: I’m yelling out titles of revenge horror movies, and begging for a do over so my guts feel better. GIRLS WILL BE GIRLS needs to be your literary I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE. Not necessarily a sequel, but, I’d love to see these boys try it again inside of a new cover… Especially after reading that last line!

If you haven’t read this one yet, mind the trigger warnings, but hurry and go get it!! I need to discuss!! While I wait for you, I have Killstreme downloaded, and can’t wait to start reading.

Buy BOYS WILL BE BOYS on Amazon, then leave your 5 star review on Goodreads,

Fresh Blood on #BleedingMemes!

Has it been a minute since you’ve checked the gallery? Swing by and see what you’ve missed. Today’s additions include a psycho quote from Bret Easton Ellis, (American Psycho that is!), and some sharp words provided by Shaun Hupp.

The Maniacs With Knives post led me to obsess over Rayne Havok even more, (if you’re wondering…check out the review, haha!!) But – I’m dying on this new background I’m working on for Boy’s Will Be Boys. I’m trying to be TOO clever, I think. We’ll see. BOLO for new Ed Lee, and Wrath James White #BleedingMemes, posting soon!

Well, like most things in life, tonight’s discussion can be summed up in the words of Bukowski…

Keep checking back even during the remodeling, just wear your mask to avoid the dust and debris 😉 Until next time…

Peace, Love & Necrophilia 💋

Tantalize By Rayne Havok

WARNING: SOME SCENES MAY BE CONSIDERED OFFENSIVE.

“It’s her fault, really, flaunting herself. She invades my mind, taking over until I must do something to regain it, to be free of her.”

“Things have escalated, but I have it all under control.”

Rayne Havok

Wow! Gavin’s descent into madness didn’t take any side roads! I was along for the ride, and could’ve used a rest stop – being in such close proximity gives you an almost sixth sense on what others are feeling. And Gavin’s frustration is making my skin crawl! He is literally acting like Hannah is an addiction, because his ‘Hannah withdrawls’ are painful to read. The writing is so we’ll done that you are right inside those covers with your fictional friends. I’d want to put it down for a minute, but Rayne just laughs and says… “Buckle up, Bitch and enjoy your ride! No breaks for you!” Hahahaha Seriously, once you’re at a certain point it’s better to continue, especially if the story is this good.

I love this ‘He Said’ / ‘She Said’ style of story telling, and when Hannah did speak, we got to meet her inner-bad-ass! She’s a smart cookie and realized that there was going to be no white knight to rescue her. She plans to take her pound of flesh, and then haul ass before anything else happens to her, she knows her sanity is a fragile thing. This part of the book was deeply satisfying to read, especially after reading every word of what he did to her! You can cringe and smile at the same time! You look like you have to pee, but it’s done. It’s like laughing while puking.

Now comes the hard part… deciding which of Rayne Havok’s books to read next! I think it has to be Boys Will Be Boys this time. It’s calling my name!

My next read from Rayne Havok

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Rayne has the attention span of a goldfish so she tends to write shorter stories.

Full of gory and gross thoughts that need to be put to paper, she writes all the time to clear space for the new stuff. She is a huge fan of horror and loves to be shocked by all things ‘extreme’. She focuses on the human condition, what causes people to do the things they do and the possibility that not all of it is wrong.

She’s all about the bloody and gruesome, but also loves to sprinkle it with gratuitous sex.
She is a little psychotic and a little sweet, lives in Phoenix Arizona- but doesn’t get out much for fear of melting to death in the desert heat.

“I always know the ending, then I write the story for it.”

“Writing horror is burning a room full of people. Writing extreme/gore horror is following them inside to listen to their skin crackle.”

Her latest masterpiece, Killstream, will be published September 16th – mark your calendars!

KILLSTREAM:

Wesley gets an invitation from Killstreme, a snuff production company, to star in his very own snuff film. It’s an opportunity he can’t refuse.

Available on Amazon, (and KU) September 16, 2020.

She loves hearing what you think, so leave a review or reach out to her via social media – Goodreads, Amazon, and Twitter.

XXX by Rayne Havok

Xavier: “I escaped from prison, hauling ass in a stolen car, putting space between me and that barbed wire fence- when the damn thing runs out of gas.

Luckily, I come across an old farmhouse that looks empty, even luckier, it is not.
The threats about daddy coming home don’t scare me… maybe they should have.”

Yeah, Xavier… maybe they should have!!

‘XXX’ is my first book by Rayne Havok, (what a kick-ass name!). I hate to say this, but I don’t think I’d heard of her until I read Shaun Hupp’s Maniacs with Knives last week. Her blurb for Shaun was so awesome that I had to meme* it for the book’s review! Last night, as I was frantically trying to find out what happened to Tim Miller’s newest release (Snuff Film – it was missing from Amazon last night – boo!!)  (UPDATE: I JUST read that Snuff Film is banned from Amazon – is there any better advertising than that?! I compare it to the recommendation, ahem – I mean warning labels on Rx bottles.) , and I saw on Goodreads that Tim is currently reading her books. (Our circles definitely overlap. I don’t know why I haven’t read this until now.) I recognized a few other names in the reviews, too, but I was already sold. At that point I was just trying to figure out which book I wanted to read first.

Back to the story!

Like most of her books, XXX is a short story, (appx 67 pgs), so when I first started reading I thought I was in for a story that I’ve read dozens of times already… ‘escaped prisoner on the run terrorizes family in secluded house in BFE…’ . That is NOT a bad thing! I like those stories and was looking forward to seeing how this author spun it. But I was WRONG! Holy shit, what a ride. It was hard to read at a couple points – “TORTURE: NEW AND IMPROVED!! Now, with sprinkles!”
When I was about 3/4 into the story, Rayne snuck** up behind me and whacked me in the back of the head with it! It’s a great, twisty ending – and… one that I didn’t see coming.
I’m looking forward to reading her other books. I trying to decide which one to read next – I think it’s going to be either The Embalmer, or Degenerate. Keep your eyes peeled… there’ll be more reviews to come!
